FC UKRAINE UNITED

In 2006, a group of soccer players, some of which were former professionals, had an idea to establish a new semi-pro club in Toronto. Their head coach, Andrei Malychenkov, also a player on the team, had played in several clubs of 1st and 2nd Divisions in Russia. Like wise, his assistant, Vladimir Koval, was a former professional player from Ukraine.

Since most of the team members had immigrated to Canada from Ukraine, the name “Ukraine United” seemed to be the perfect fit for this team. The team chose the colors yellow and blue to represent the Ukrainian flag.

The club first played in an indoor league at Soccer City. Following the spring of 2007, FC Ukraine United registered with the Ontario Soccer League (OSL) in Multi Jurisdictional Division West. In their first season, they won the Ontario George Finnie Cup and finished 3rd in the league.

In 2008, FC Ukraine United won 1st place in OSL and was promoted to Central Regional Division. From 2009 to 2011, they continued to play in Central Regional Division, while taking home the Great Lakes Cup in 2010.

The following year, the team was promoted to Premier Central Division in OSL. As a result, they were invited to participate in one of the major Ukrainian soccer tournaments, the 2012 Diaspora World Cup, which took place in Ternopil, Ukraine. Once again the football club ranked well taking 3rd place. Since, the team continues to play in OSL, achieving 3rd place in 2014, 2nd place in 2015 and 3rd place in 2016. In 2016, FC Ukraine United was promoted to the professional ranks by joining the Canadian Soccer League. In their debut season in the CSL FC Ukraine United achieved a second place finish in the standings and recorded the league's big offensive record. In the first round of the postseason United faced Brantford Galaxy and won 3-0. Their opponents in the next round were the Serbian White Eagles, but were eliminated from playoff contention from a 1-0 loss.

2017 was a successful year for FC Ukraine United, when they won 2 titles in Canadian Soccer League. Ukrainians won 2nd division title and were 2nd division playoffs champions. United played 14 games in the regular season, won 13, tied 1 and won all 3 playoff games. 

Second FC Ukraine United team which played in Provincial East Division of Ontario Soccer League finished 2nd just 3 points behind the first place.

2018 was a great success! FC Ukraine United won Canadian Soccer League First Division Title and recorded the league's best offensive record by scoring 60 goals in 16 games. Playoff season for Ukrainians ended in the semifinals when they were eliminated  by Scarborough SC.
