On Sunday, May 28th, 2017 FC Ukraine United played their first official game of the seasont against new CSL team FC Vorkuta . Ukrainians opened the scoring at 23rd minute mark when Pavlo Lukianets found the net after a corner kick. Both teams had few chances to score but the first half ended with the only goal.
In the second half both teams took turns seizing the momentum in the entertaining affair but Ukrainians scored first at 71st when Taras Gromiak doubled the score. Vorkuta made a late push for at least one goal and they were cut by another FCUU counterattack. Roman Pitsur made it 3-0 on a breakaway. However, in the last minute of the game Vorkuta finnaly scored one goal.
3-1 final score, great win for FC Ukraine United season opener!
